Kitchen/Living Room

Each apartment features a stylish galley kitchen and is fully fitted with modern kitchen appliances, and comes complete with utensils and crockery. The living room of each apartment is provided with comfortable furniture and a television.
All apartments on upper floors feature generous balconies.

Bedrooms

All bedrooms feature ample storage space and an en-suite bathroom. Each bedroom is supplied with a desk, lamps, built in wardrobes and a heater.

Key Holders

If you are locked out of your apartment or lose your key outside of office hours, there are key holders on site 24/7. Contact numbers are posted on the doors to the front office.

Additional Costs

•There is a €350 utility payment to be paid at the commencement of the contract which will cover the bus service, broadband access, refuse services, security, television licence and maintenance.
•There is an additional €350 to be paid at the start of the contract which will be added to your electricity account as credit. Each apartment features a monitor which can be used to view usage and top up your electricity account. All electricity fees are shared equally between students sharing an apartment.
•There is an on-site laundrette service with token operated machines. Tokens may be purchased at the office or from a dispenser in the recreation room for €2.
•In the event that you must avail of the key holder service to access your apartment, please note that there is a €5 fee which may be paid directly to the key holder or the front office at a later date.

Q. How do I pay for my electricity?

A. The meters are pre-paid with Pinergy at the commencement of the term on an equally shared basis amongst students in the apartment. The account is displayed on a monitor in the apartment and may be accessed for viewing or topping up online.


Q. How are roommates allocated?

A. If you have a friend that you wish to share an apartment with, Hawthorn Village will endeavour to accommodate you as best possible. Please clearly mark details on your application form provided. Roommates are typically allocated on basis of gender, academic year, course and age. We'll do our best to facilitate all request.


Q. Do I have to leave at Christmas and Easter?

A. No. The room is exclusively yours for the duration of the academic year.


Q. What happens if I pay for accommodation and fail to be offered a place in G.M.I.T.?

A. In the chase where a student has paid for accommodation and fails to be offered a place at G.M.I.T. the amount will be refunded in full.

A. There is currently no mandatory insurance?
